Yeast infection is the second most common cause of genital itching, burning, and discharge in women. Although less common in men, yeast infection can also develop in the male genitals most commonly from having unprotected sexual intercourse with an affected woman or less commonly because of weakening of the immune system from other systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus or taking of antibiotics for an extended period.
Signs and symptoms of male candidiasis are similar to women and include itching, presence of red patches on the penis, whitish milk-like discharge, and pain during intercourse.
